Budget 2025–26
Beneficiaries
Maharashtra has replaced the lottery system for most schemes with a “First Come, First Served” (प्रथम अर्ज करणाऱ्यास प्रथम प्राधान्य) approach. Once the scheme budget is exhausted, the portal closes automatically — popular schemes like Tractor Subsidy and Drip Irrigation fill up within days of opening.
What is MahaDBT Farmer Portal?
MahaDBT — Maharashtra Direct Benefit Transfer is the official government portal launched by the Maharashtra Agriculture Department. It allows eligible farmers to apply online for agricultural subsidies and receive money directly in their Aadhaar-linked bank account — no middlemen, no office visits, no cash handling.
In 2025–26, Maharashtra’s agricultural budget of ₹25,000 crore is being channelled through MahaDBT and the Namo Shetkari Maha Sanman Nidhi platform. The portal supports applications in Marathi and English and is accessible via mobile browser.
From 2025 onwards, a Farmer ID (AgriStack) is mandatory to use the MahaDBT portal. Register or check your status at mhfr.agristack.gov.in.
What Subsidies Can Maharashtra Farmers Get?
These scheme categories are currently offered through the MahaDBT portal. Due to the First Come, First Served rule — apply on Day 1 of the window opening.

Why Payment Gets Stuck
- Aadhaar–bank linkage not active
- Bank account inactive (no activity >1 year)
- 2026 working method changes slowed payments
- Treasury fund release delays
- PFMS processing backlog
What to Do
- Confirm Aadhaar–bank linkage is active at bank
- Check bank account is not inactive
- Check PFMS payment status separately on portal
- If 30+ days after “Payment Sent” — raise a grievance immediately
- Call helpline: 022-61316429
How to File a Proper Grievance
- Login to official portal
- Go to “Grievance / Suggestions” menu
- Fill in application details and describe problem clearly
- Submit — save your Grievance ID (received via SMS)
- Track status using Grievance ID online
- SMS and email updates sent automatically
If Grievance Gets No Real Response
- Track Grievance ID status daily online
- If no action after 15 days — call 022-61316429
- Visit nearest Krishi Vibhag (Agriculture Office) in person
- Bring: Grievance ID + Application ID + Aadhaar card
- In-person visits get faster resolution than calls
The Problem
- Aadhaar says “Pratap” but 7/12 says “Pratap Patil” → automatic hold
- Even a small spelling difference triggers the hold
- System does automated name matching from 2025 onwards
- Very common but entirely preventable problem
How to Fix It
- Visit mahabhumi.gov.in to apply for 7/12 name correction
- Your local Talathi office can assist with this process
- After correction, update your MahaDBT profile
- Then re-apply for the scheme
- Also ensure 7/12 does not show Boja (encumbrance) — encumbered land is ineligible
If You Don’t Have a Farmer ID
- Check enrollment status using Aadhaar at: mhfr.agristack.gov.in
- Or visit nearest Agriculture Department (Krishi Vibhag) office
- Farmer ID is linked to your land records and Aadhaar
- Profile completeness must be 100% — incomplete profiles auto-rejected
If OTP Is Not Arriving
- Wait 5 minutes and retry
- Verify your mobile is linked to Aadhaar at uidai.gov.in
- If mobile number has changed — visit nearest Aadhaar update centre
- Ensure mobile has strong network signal

Documents Required for MahaDBT Application
All documents must be in JPEG format. Convert PDFs before uploading. This is the single most common reason for upload errors.
| Document | Required Format | Size Limit | Key Note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Aadhaar Card | JPEG | Under 250KB | Mobile number must be Aadhaar-linked to receive OTP for login |
| 7/12 Utara (Land Record) | JPEG | Under 250KB | Name must exactly match Aadhaar — even a minor spelling difference puts application on hold |
| Bank Passbook (Front Page) | JPEG | Under 250KB | Account must be active (used in last 1 year) and Aadhaar-seeded at bank |
| Passport-Size Photo | JPEG | Under 250KB | Recent, clear photo. Plain background preferred. |
| CAP ID | JPEG | Under 250KB | JPEG only — PDF strictly not accepted for this document |
| Scheme-Specific Documents | JPEG | Under 250KB | Varies by scheme (e.g., dealer quotation from SMAM-empanelled dealer for tractor subsidy) |
